Key Enabling Technologies for a Sustainable Future – Swedish-Finnish Seminar on Bioeconomy

Bio-based products such as wood buildings, green chemicals, textiles and packaging are areas where Finland and Sweden hold a strong position. Investments are being made on a wide front, both in production capacity and in research and development. Welcome to take part in exciting results from the projects and other initiatives within the Nordic circular bioeconomy and hear the company views to the future development.

The bio-based industry can provide great help in facing today´s climate challenges and promote more sustainable consumption. Just as today’s oil refineries utilise the various fractions of crude oil, the biorefineries can play an important role in processing all the constituents of the biomass: cellulose, hemicellulose, lignin, extractives and proteins. Hear the latest progress in biorefining and the relevant regulation and listen to several projects that take bio-based solutions to global markets through new cross-border collaboration.

The global need for textile fibers has grown rapidly and constitutes a societal challenge. Textiles based on cellulose holds great potential for both technical textiles and fashion.
